This was a sketch commission done for . This is Nyssa, she's half dwarf and half wild elf. I tried to capture more of her dwarf side here, like stockier build, affinity for axes, and enjoyment of ales.
First off, love the pose. Real sense of character expression in face and body. Wardrobe is spot on for this kind of character. Looks like you had a lot of fun doing this! Almost as much fun as she's having, apparently.
I would wonder about how she's able to perch herself in that position without falling over, but she's half elf, and they're able to do all sorts of things balance wise, like being able to walk on top of snow drifts without sinking in, so I won't question it
On to the only two points of contention anatomically that I have. One in the right elbow, where the anatomy seems to wither and the other in the right lower leg where it seems to have inherited a lot of the dwarf side moreso than the elf half. If it helps, I think adding some light perspective lines to keep track of relative locations of joints might be useful.
Other than that, the only thing I'd like to see more out of this and other drawings is for you to start adding scenes and backdrops! Seriously, I want to see what other amusement she's part of and the story behind it! I just put up a review in my journal of a composition book I recently got which helps a lot in figuring out how to design scenes. Feel like I discovered something special with it, so I thought I'd share.
Will do! It unfortunately won't be until after December I think. Work is insanely busy this time of year and I also have a commission to work on, along with gifts.
